Admission Procedure

At Maharani Nursing College, Dharapuram, admissions are conducted in strict accordance with the guidelines of the Indian Nursing Council (INC), The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai and the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of Tamil Nadu. The process ensures transparency, merit-based selection and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

B.Sc. Nursing

Overview:

The B.Sc. Nursing is a four-year undergraduate professional degree program designed to produce competent, compassionate and skilled nursing professionals.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Successful completion of Higher Secondary Education (10+2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology), and English as core subjects.
  • Minimum 45% aggregate marks in science subjects (relaxation as per Government norms for reserved categories).
  • Candidates from boards other than Tamil Nadu State Board must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University before admission.
  • Medical fitness certificate required.

Application Procedure:

Obtain the prescribed Application Form from the college office or authorized channels.

Submit the completed form with self-attested copies of:

  • SSLC (10th) Mark Sheet
  • HSC (12th) Mark Sheet
  • Transfer Certificate (TC)
  • Community Certificate (if applicable)
  • Migration Certificate (for out-of-state applicants)
  • Eligibility Certificate (for non-HSC candidates)
  • Passport-size photographs (as specified)
  • Applications must be submitted before the announced deadline.

Interview & Selection:

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview

Seat Allocation:

  • 60% of seats – Government Quota via centralized counselling by DME.

Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (A.N.M.)

Overview:

The A.N.M. is a two-year certificate course focusing on basic nursing care, maternal & child health, and community outreach — ideal for candidates aspiring to serve in rural healthcare settings.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) in any stream from a recognized board.
  • Age: 17 to 35 years
  • Medically fit, with a fitness certificate at the time of admission.

Application Procedure:

Obtain the A.N.M. Application Form from the college.

Submit the completed form with self-attested copies of:

  • SSLC (10th) Mark Sheet
  • Transfer Certificate (TC)
  • Community Certificate (if applicable)
